The secret is out – Hawaii boasts amazing weather, fantastic water sports, and gorgeous landscapes! OK, so it is no secret; in fact, these are a few of the multitude of reasons people flock to Hawaii year-round. Whether you are a part-time or full-time resident of Hawaii, you undoubtedly have an appreciation for your spectacular surroundings. From ocean views to pocket doors and outdoor kitchens to tropical pools, there are countless ways to position your home for perfect outdoor living.

Island architects and builders have learned to capture and utilize Hawaii’s unique natural landscape and weather patterns. By positioning structures in line with the pattern of the trade winds, you can literally bring the outdoors in – neutralizing the temperature and eliminating the need for costly air conditioning.

One residence that merges the interior of the home with the outdoors using thoughtful yet luxurious methods is one in Maui’s Wailea Golf Estates, listed by Diane K. Pool. With so many features and breathtaking panoramic views you might never have to leave this lanai. The sunken outdoor kitchen with bar and stools, is parallel to the pool and Jacuzzi for convenient snacking and swimming. Want to turn the pool into a Dive-in? A Marantz TV is positioned in an outdoor corner on a swivel mount; perfect for evening showings. Just off the lanai is the master suite which includes indoor and outdoor showers and a private garden. With plenty of seating, walls of windows, and pocket doors around the living room and dining room, you can keep the luxury to yourself or invite friends over for some ideal outdoor entertaining.

If visiting Oahu, you can use the beach as your own back yard with South Shore’s Paradise Beach Estate, available for rent through Ohana Beach Rentals Hawaii. This beachfront estate offers an expansive lanai on the main level of the home, as well as personal lanais connected to two upstairs bedrooms. The towering ceilings of the stately open-air living room allow for a full ocean view before opening up to a sparkling pool and Jacuzzi. This home was designed for unobstructed views and high-style lanai living.

Even if you don’t have a beachfront estate, your home can still be positioned to experience the outdoor lifestyle. The suggestion of Condominiums may conjure images of skyscrapers surrounded in pavement, seen in New York City or other metropolitan destinations. But in Honolulu, The Trump International Hotel & Tower™ Waikiki Beach Walk®, is just across the street from Waikiki’s renowned white sandy beaches.

The proximity to the beach makes this an ideal location to experience condo city-living with fabulous amenities while also being able to take advantage of Hawaii’s natural amenities. “They have an incredible Infinity Pool located on the 6th floor with an expansive deck and fabulous

views,” said Lisa van den Heuvel, who has a Corner End 03 stack unit listing. “[There are] many outdoor activities you can partake in including water sports such as surfing, stand up paddling, canoeing, sailing and snorkeling. Ty Gurney Surf School on property even offers surf lessons!”

From the condotel you truly benefit from amazing views of Fort De Russy Park, Diamond Head, and the Honolulu skyline with the Ko`olau Mountains. With al fresco dining opportunities, the Wai`olu Ocean View Lounge, and personal lanais, these condos provide an idyllic outdoor location to view Waikiki’s Friday night fireworks.

Wherever you make your home in Hawaii, know that there is always a way to incorporate the outdoors and create a residential paradise.
